I think DA is great as an art community. The problem comes when it tries to sell itself as a place to do art as a business. It's really not well designed for that. As such, what I am aiming to do is have a business website and use DA as a journal. There is a lot of porn orientated content that I would not want associated with my work in a professional capacity. As an artistic community such stuff has it's place as that is something that people enjoy making. From a business prospective it makes us look bad. Also the point system and low pricing model for prints and other work does not lend itself well to matching real world gallery pricing with online pricing. It's a very poorly designed system for running a business.
